Garbally College Wins Connaught Title In Hurling

Garbally College had a famous victory on Monday last April 11th.  The final score – Garbally 6-9, Loughrea 1-7.- delineated the progress this team has made over the past four months.  Coach and mentor Mr. Dan Burke was extremely happy with his charges.  He observed that attendance at training was excellent throughout the year and the first years had grown in confidence and skill level since September 2010.

Jack Kelly from Kiltormer was particularly effective as centre back position.  The captain Daniel Glynn and corner forward Aodan Connaughton put in a huge effort.  Diarmuid Claffey was very accurate from both placed balls and open play.  This victory lays the foundation for several successful years in hurling in this East Galway Academy.
