Juvenile Football

Jack Parsons

Our training started in mid September under the guidance of Mr. Mannion and Godfrey Gibbons. With a strong squad of 30 players with ten of our squad playing at a county level we had a chance to go far.

After a bad start against the Bish in the league, we knew we had to win our last remaining games and with excellent performances against Spiddal , HRC and Carrick on Shannon  we found ourselves in a semi final.

Unfortunately, the snow hit us a blow which suspended training from November until  after Christmas.

The championship started in March with our first game against the Bish. Out to get revenge after our loss in the first day of the league.  Luckily our 6 forwards were on fire bringing in a massive score line of 6-6.

Our semi final of both the league and championship was against St. Nathys .   It looked bleak at half time with Garbally behind by 8 points but in the second half with all guns blazing a massive performance landed us in the championship and league final.

We met St Attractas in the final second year in a row. We started off slow with attracts getting a good lead at half time. We dug deep fighting back but Attractas took the chances to go on and win the game.

We would like to thank Mr. Greg Mannion,  Godfrey Gibbons, Aiden Dooley and Bryan Minton for all there help all year.
